Update at 2:29pm – Traffic and buses were redirected on to backstreets, some bus trips took 2 hours longer than scheduled.

A Contraflow is now in place however Transport for NSW still report 60 minute delays which are clearly visibile on livetraffic.com

The contraflow redirects traffic on to the opposing carriageway, leading to delays in both directions as traffic is reduced down to 40km/h with a single lane in each direction.

Emergency services are attending a significant two-truck collision on the Pacific Highway near the intersection with The Bucketts Way at Twelve Mile Creek in the Port Stephens region. The incident occurred around 6:45 am today when a truck collided with a broken-down vehicle, causing it to veer onto the median strip.

One of the trucks involved is a fuel tanker that ruptured its tank upon impact, spilling diesel onto the roadway. Hazardous materials teams from the NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) and Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) are on-site, working diligently to contain and clean up the spill to prevent environmental damage and ensure public safety.
