newy.com.au – Coalfields Local History Association Incorporated will receive $1,320 from the Minns Labor Government’s 2025 Veteran Community Grants Program, with Cessnock MP Clayton Barr and NSW Minister for Veterans David Harris announcing the funding.
The statewide program is providing $112,850 across 70 projects to back community activities that recognise military service, support veterans and families, and help educate younger people about Australia’s service history.
“A total of $112,850 will be provided to individuals, community groups, schools and ex-service organisations state-wide for projects that acknowledge Australia’s military service history, along with educating future generations and enhancing the wellbeing of the veteran community,” Harris said.
“These exceptional projects and initiatives, including the one in Cessnock Electorate, play an important role in honouring and supporting our veterans and their families. The funding awarded will make a real difference for many of these communities,” he said.
Barr said the local grant would help continue work that recognises veterans in the Cessnock community. “I would like to acknowledge Coalfields Local History Association Incorporated for their commitment to the veterans of Cessnock Community and honouring their service,” he said.
“The grants program and these community projects enable our future generations to learn of the efforts of our veterans and support our local veteran community,” Barr said.
The NSW Government said the full list of 2025 grant recipients and further information about the program was available at veterans.nsw.gov.au/vcgp2025.
