newy.com.au – A fourth person has been charged with murder over the stabbing death of a 38-year-old man at Argenton in April.

Homicide Squad detectives arrested a 20-year-old man at Newcastle Police Station about 9.40am on Thursday, August 20, following inquiries by Strike Force Blave.

He was charged with murder and remanded in custody to appear in Bail Division Local Court 2 on Friday.

Emergency services were called to Montgomery Street shortly after 4am on Sunday, April 19, following reports of an assault.

Lake Macquarie police found the 38-year-old man with stab wounds. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated him, but he died at the scene.

Police established a crime scene before the investigation was taken over by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

A 22-year-old man and two boys, both aged 16, have also been charged with murder during the investigation. All three remain before the courts.

The charges against the four accused are allegations and have not been proven in court.
