newy.com.au – Illuminate Raymond Terrace will return to Boomerang Park on Saturday, September 19, with four hours of free entertainment planned for the town centre.
The family event will run from 4pm to 8pm and feature live music, fire twirlers, fireworks, food stalls and lantern displays.
Students from Irrawang Public School, Raymond Terrace Public School, St Brigid’s Primary School, Grahamstown Public School and Alesco Secondary College will contribute lanterns made during school workshops.
Port Stephens Mayor Leah Anderson said local schools, businesses and community organisations were helping organise the celebration.
“Illuminate is about bringing people together and creating something Raymond Terrace is proud of. It’s a great celebration of Raymond Terrace and showcases what makes this place so special,” Cr Anderson said.
The Mutual Bank will return as the event’s naming rights sponsor. Chief executive Mark Williams said the customer-owned bank was proud to support an event that brought residents together.
“As a customer-owned bank, helping communities thrive is at the heart of everything we do. We’re proud to support Illuminate Raymond Terrace because it brings people together, celebrates community spirit and creates a stronger sense of connection,” Mr Williams said.
