newy.com.au – Speers Point Park in Lake Macquarie will host Lake Mac Carols on Sunday 14 December 2025, with family entertainment from 3pm and a scheduled 7pm visit from Santa Claus.

Lake Macquarie City Council said the annual community event would combine live performances with food, activities and a donation drive supporting local families ahead of Christmas.

Lake Macquarie Mayor Adam Shultz said: “It is almost a rite of passage to welcome Christmas with an evening of carols in Speers Point Park,” adding that “hundreds of thousands of people have done it over so many years, and I’m looking forward to seeing lots more smiling faces on Sunday evening”.

The program begins at 3pm, with children’s entertainers The Quokkas on the main stage at 5pm before the evening entertainment starts at 6pm, according to the council. Shultz described Santa’s 7pm appearance as a highlight.

Performers listed for this year’s event include Hannah Quinn, Steph Russell, Jerome O’Connor, Komiti Levai and Pacific Harmony.

Council said the site would include market stalls, food and drink vans, and a Domaine Homes Kids’ Zone offering family-friendly activities.

The Cameron Park unit of the NSW Rural Fire Service will also attend, selling battery-powered candles, displaying a fire truck and a smaller four-wheel drive unit, and providing fire safety information.

Shultz said the carols would double as a collection point for non-perishable food, gifts and cash donations for Sugar Valley Neighbourhood Centre. “The centre provides programs, support services, playgroups, food relief and outreach to individuals and families across the city,” he said.

This year’s Lake Mac Carols are sponsored by Domaine Homes, Cardiff Motor Group, and Scion Audio and Events.

Pre-paid $10 parking spaces in Macquarie Field can be booked online, with $15 spaces available for purchase on the day, and other parking located further away from the park, the council said.
