newy.com.au – A 30 year old man has been charged with alleged high range drink driving at Raymond Terrace after police said a breath analysis returned a reading of 0.250, five times the legal limit of 0.05.

Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were called to a petrol station on Richardson Road about 9pm on Friday 30 October 2026 after members of the public raised concerns for a man’s welfare.

Police said they found the man inside a ute with its engine running. A roadside breath test allegedly returned a positive result, and he was arrested and taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station for the further breath analysis.

The man was issued a Court Attendance Notice for driving with a high range prescribed concentration of alcohol and his licence was suspended. He is due to appear before Maitland Local Court on Monday 14 December 2026.
