newy.com.au – Tomago Road will close overnight at its Pacific Highway intersection from Monday 26 October until the morning of Saturday 28 November for asphalt work, with motorists diverted via Old Punt Road.

The closures will run from 7pm to 5am. Transport for NSW said work on new interchanges and local roads was continuing under the Black Hill to Tomago project following the opening of the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace.

Other work will require lane closures, intermittent stoppages and temporary speed reductions to 40km/h. Contraflow arrangements will also be used, directing traffic onto the opposite side of the road.

Overnight restrictions are scheduled between 7pm and 5am from 26 October to 28 November on the M1 Pacific Motorway at Beresfield and Black Hill, John Renshaw Drive at Beresfield, the New England Highway at Tarro and the Pacific Highway at Tomago, Heatherbrae and Raymond Terrace.

Daytime restrictions will apply from 7am to 5pm between Monday 26 October and Friday 27 November on Old Punt Road near the Pacific Highway at Tomago and the eastbound New England Highway at Tarro.

Construction across the project, including landscaping and finishing work, will continue from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays. Work is also scheduled from 7pm to 5am on Monday to Friday nights.

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and follow signs and traffic controllers’ directions.

Operators of oversize or over mass vehicles whose ground contact is wider than 3.2 metres, or whose overall width exceeds 4.5 metres, are advised to call the project team on 1800 094 895 at least one day before their planned movement. Transport for NSW warned that failing to make contact before travelling could cause significant delays.

Vehicles travelling under a permit must stay on the approved route unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.
