newy.com.au – A 33 year old man identified by police as a Lone Wolf outlaw motorcycle gang member has been charged after returning to Australia, following an investigation into alleged extortion and a home invasion in Lake Macquarie.

Raptor Squad North investigators arrested the man at Sydney International Airport in Mascot about 8.10am on Friday, 23 October 2026. Australian Border Force and Australian Federal Police officers assisted in the arrest.

He was taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, armed robbery causing wounding or grievous bodily harm, demanding property in company with menaces with intent to steal, and two counts of participating in a criminal group and contributing to criminal activity.

Police said he was refused bail and was due to appear at Bail Division Court 7 that day.

The arrest followed inquiries by Strike Force Vigo, established by Raptor Squad North in November 2024 to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs. Police said detectives linked the man to the alleged extortion of a 57 year old man in December 2024 and an alleged home invasion and aggravated assault of a 30 year old man at Cardiff in February 2025.

Emergency services were called to a unit on Macquarie Road, Cardiff, about 10pm on Tuesday, 4 February 2025, following reports three men had forced entry and assaulted the 30 year old. The men allegedly left shortly afterwards.

The injured man was treated at the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital with head injuries.

Police said three people had already been charged over the Cardiff incident and their cases remained before the courts. Further inquiries identified the 33 year old, who had travelled overseas, as a fourth alleged offender.

Anyone with information about organised criminal activity is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or through the Crime Stoppers website. Police said information was handled confidentially and reminded the public not to submit reports through NSW Police social media pages.
