newy.com.au – Swansea Bridge will operate with one lane of road traffic in each direction during four nights of maintenance from Monday 26 October, and will be closed to marine traffic during the night shifts.
Transport for NSW said work on the Pacific Highway crossing would run from 7pm to 5am each night, weather permitting. One bridge will remain open at all times, with traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h in place.
The work will include maintenance of the bridge locks and hydraulic cylinders, along with inspection and testing of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components and emergency systems.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow signs and directions from traffic controllers.
Operators of oversize, over mass or heavy vehicles with an overall width greater than three metres are advised to contact the project team on 0421 541 116 at least one day before travelling. Transport for NSW warned that delays would occur if prior contact was not made.
The project operates on UHF channel 17 for freight operators. Vehicles travelling under a permit must remain on the approved route unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.
