Officers from Newcastle City Police District began searching for the man after he was last seen in the suburb on Sunday, August 23.
Police said the body was located in Lambton on Monday, August 24, following extensive inquiries and a land search.
Formal identification is yet to take place. Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
