newy.com.au – Raptor Squad has targeted 90 Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang members and associates during a high-visibility police operation across Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley.
The operation was carried out on Saturday, April 25, with assistance from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District, Traffic and Highway Patrol and the Dog Unit. Police said it targeted anti-social behaviour, traffic offences and organised crime.
Police established traffic stops at Beresfield and Salt Ash, where Bandidos members and associates were stopped for road compliance inspections, as well as roadside breath and drug testing.
Officers issued 86 traffic infringements, detected 32 major defects, searched 57 people and 19 vehicles, and recorded six positive drug tests.
Commander of Raptor Squad, Detective Acting Superintendent Brad Abdy, said the operation formed part of an ongoing strategy to disrupt and dismantle OMCGs across NSW.
“Operations like this don’t happen overnight. They require meticulous planning, strong intelligence, and seamless coordination across multiple units,” Det Act Supt Abdy said.
“We want the community to know that we are actively targeting those who think they can intimidate or operate outside the law.”
“NSW Police will keep applying pressure until these groups understand that there is no safe haven for their activities.”
Anyone with information that may assist investigations into organised criminal activity is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the NSW Crime Stoppers website. Information is managed on a confidential basis.
