A large-scale search operation to locate a woman reported missing near Pindimar early this morning has concluded without success, as police continue to seek public assistance to help identify her.

The coordinated land search began after authorities were alerted to the woman’s disappearance around 3am today. Police were called to Cambage Street in Pindimar following a report that a confused-looking woman had knocked on the door of a local home before wandering into nearby bushland.

Officers from the Port Stephens-Hunter Police District, working with the NSW Police Dog Unit, PolAir, and the State Emergency Service (SES), quickly responded to the call. Despite their best efforts, the extensive land and air search has so far yielded no further sightings of the woman.

Police have not received any missing persons reports related to the case, leading authorities to scale back the search effort. However, officers will continue patrolling the area in case the woman is spotted again.

The woman is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 65 and 70 years old, of thin build, standing approximately 155 to 165cm tall. She has shoulder-length curly blonde hair and was last seen wearing jeans and a singlet top featuring either a floral pattern or a leopard print.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen the woman or who may be able to assist in identifying her to come forward. Information can be provided to Raymond Terrace Police or Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.

The local community has been asked to stay vigilant, with police continuing their efforts to ensure the woman’s safety.
