newy.com.au – The second annual Sleapy’s Cricket Cup will be held at Waratah Oval on Sunday, 29 November 2026, following an inaugural event that raised more than $8,000 for Sleapy’s Foundation.
Waratah Mayfield District Cricket Club will take on the University of Newcastle Cricket Club across three Twenty20 matches, starting at 9am and continuing throughout the day. The event will again raise funds for the foundation.
The program will range from social cricket to a premier SummerBash T20 match to close the day. Waratah Mayfield says the event will feature cricket for players of all abilities.
The cup was established in 2025. Waratah Mayfield credited the first event’s fundraising result to support from the cricket community, local businesses and other supporters, and hopes to build on that total in 2026.
