Raptor Squad charges nine alleged Finks OMCG members over Hunter firearm, drug and affray offences

newy.com.au – Nine alleged Finks outlaw motorcycle gang members and associates have been charged over alleged firearm, drug, affray and sexual touching offences in the Hunter Region, following Raptor Squad raids across Lake Macquarie, Cessnock and Maitland on Wednesday 19 November 2025.

NSW Police said the charges follow investigations into two alleged incidents at licensed venues in Merewether and Shoal Bay earlier this month, including the alleged sexual touching of a young woman and brawls in which patrons were threatened and assaulted.

Police allege a 25-year-old woman was touched by an unknown man on three separate occasions during a night out at a licensed premises in Merewether on Saturday 1 November 2025. That same night, three men were allegedly involved in an affray at the same hotel, where one man is alleged to have armed himself with a cutlery knife and threatened a patron.

The following weekend, on Saturday 8 November 2025, officers from Port Stephens Hunter Police District began investigating an alleged brawl outside a licensed premises in Shoal Bay, where a group of men is alleged to have attacked other patrons standing outside the venue. Police said the men involved in the alleged sexual touching and affrays were later identified as alleged members of the Finks OMCG.

From about 6am on Wednesday 19 November 2025, officers from State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad North, assisted by local police, executed seven search warrants across the Lake Macquarie, Cessnock and Maitland areas. Nine people were arrested during the operation.

At Kurri Kurri, police arrested a 36-year-old man who was taken to Cessnock Police Station and charged with two counts of affray over the Merewether and Shoal Bay incidents, supply prohibited drug not exceeding a small quantity, and failing to comply with a digital evidence access order direction. He was granted conditional bail to appear in Kurri Kurri Local Court on Tuesday 25 November 2025.

In North Rothbury, a 33-year-old man was arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station. He was charged with two counts of affray linked to the Merewether and Shoal Bay incidents, possess prohibited drug and fail to comply with a digital evidence access order direction. He was granted conditional bail to appear in Singleton Local Court on Thursday 27 November 2025.

Police arrested a 40-year-old man at a home in Rutherford. He was taken to Maitland Police Station and charged with sexually touching another person without consent. He was granted conditional bail to appear in Maitland Local Court on Wednesday 10 December 2025.

During a search warrant in Maitland, officers allegedly located a gel blaster. Two men, aged 28 and 38, were arrested and taken to Maitland Police Station. The 38-year-old man was charged with affray relating to the Shoal Bay incident and two counts of firearm found at premises subject to a prohibition order. The 28-year-old man was charged with possessing an unauthorised pistol, possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit, supplying a prohibited drug in an indictable but less than commercial quantity, and supplying a prohibited drug not exceeding a small quantity. Both men were refused bail to appear in Bail Division Local Court 2 on Thursday 20 November 2025.

At an address in Windale, police arrested a 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman. The man was charged at Belmont Police Station with affray and using an offensive weapon in company with intent to commit an indictable offence in relation to the Merewether incident. After officers allegedly located a shotgun at the property, he was further charged with a series of firearm and weapon offences including acquiring a prohibited firearm while subject to a prohibition order, possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm, possessing an unregistered prohibited firearm, failing to keep a prohibited firearm safely, acquiring ammunition while subject to a prohibition order, and possessing ammunition without holding a licence. Police said he also faces multiple counts of using and possessing a prohibited weapon without a permit.

The 26-year-old woman was charged with possessing an unauthorised prohibited firearm, possessing an unregistered prohibited firearm and failing to keep a prohibited firearm safely. Both were refused bail to appear in Bail Division Local Court 2 on Thursday 20 November 2025.

At a Bellbird address, police arrested a 32-year-old man who was taken to Cessnock Police Station and charged with affray relating to the Shoal Bay incident. He was granted conditional bail to appear in Cessnock Local Court on Wednesday 26 November 2025.

At a separate Bellbird property, a 34-year-old man was arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station. He was charged with five counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit after police allegedly found a ballistic dart gun, knuckle dusters and other items at the home. He was also charged with not keeping a firearm safely (not pistol/prohibited firearm), failing to store ammunition in a restricted area as required, and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug. He was granted conditional bail to appear in Cessnock Local Court on Wednesday 3 December 2025.

All nine accused are due to face various local courts over the coming weeks as the Raptor Squad’s investigation into alleged Finks OMCG activity in the Hunter Region continues.
