newy.com.au – Cardiff-based company 3ME Technology has secured nearly $3 million in federal funding to advance its electric trailer technology, as part of the Albanese Government’s Industry Growth Program. The $2.95 million grant will support the construction and commercialisation of four Battery Powered Transport Trailers, designed for use across mining, defence, construction, ports and warehousing sectors.

The funding is part of a broader initiative to boost Australia’s manufacturing capabilities by supporting businesses with innovative, scalable technologies. The Industry Growth Program offers tailored advisory services and matched grants for commercialisation, with the aim of transforming local innovation into viable national and international products.

Member for Shortland Pat Conroy welcomed the announcement, highlighting the project’s local benefits. “By backing Australian businesses like 3ME Technology, we are turning innovation into industry right here in Cardiff,” he said. “Congratulations to 3ME Technology – I have seen their work up close for years and I cannot wait to see the exciting progress they make with the support of this program.”

3ME Technology CEO Justin Bain said the company was grateful for the support. “This development supports 3ME Technology charging ahead as a globally competitive machine OEM,” he said. “As a leader in power and electrification working predominately across mining and defence sectors, this product will deliver lower emissions logistics solutions and provide remote power to off-highway sectors.”

Applications for the Industry Growth Program’s advisory services remain open, with more information available at business.gov.au/igp.
