Developers Winarch Capital have announced plans to downsize the project, with the prominent shell-like structure, already partially constructed, no longer part of the design.​

The original blueprint for Cedar Mill included not only the expansive concert venue but also cafes, restaurants, tourist accommodations, and Australia’s largest aquatic play park, all spread across a 90-hectare site. This development was anticipated to position Morisset as a key player in the regional entertainment scene, attracting major national and international performers. ​

However, recent developments have prompted a reassessment of these plans. While the specific reasons for the redesign remain undisclosed, Winarch Capital has confirmed that a new development application will be submitted to the Lake Macquarie City Council in April. The initial design received unanimous approval from the Lake Macquarie City Council in 2022, with expectations that Cedar Mill would serve as a catalyst for economic growth in the region.
