A truck operated by local Cardiff company, Trojan Freight Pty Ltd was involved in an incident earlier today, the height of the truck caused a power line to come down in Aroona Street Edgeworth leaving residents without electricity. According to the company, the driver downed the powerlines and left the scene. Following a thorough investigation, Trojan Freight has dismissed the driver, citing a breach of safety and responsibility standards.

The downed powerlines caused alarm among residents as there was arcing from the wires on the street. There was also a risk of electrocution if anyone walked into the live wires. Ausgrid swiftly responded to secure the area and begin repairs.

Local residents shared their experiences on social media, highlighting the fear caused by the incident. Calli Ryan, who lives nearby, expressed concern for her mother’s safety during the power outage. “Far out! My mum is two doors up, I’ll let her know,” she posted.
