newy.com.au – Tomago Road will close overnight at its Pacific Highway intersection from Monday 12 October as work continues on local roads and interchanges following the opening of the M1 extension to Raymond Terrace.

Transport for NSW said the intersection would close for asphalt work between 7pm and 5am until the morning of Saturday 24 October. Motorists will be diverted via Old Punt Road.

Other work on the Black Hill to Tomago section will require lane closures, intermittent stoppages and temporary 40km/h speed limits. Contraflow arrangements will direct some traffic onto the opposite side of the road.

Overnight restrictions, scheduled from 7pm to 5am between 12 and 24 October, will affect the M1 Pacific Motorway at Beresfield and Black Hill, and John Renshaw Drive at Beresfield. They will also apply to the New England Highway at Tarro and the Pacific Highway at Tomago, Heatherbrae and Raymond Terrace.

Daytime restrictions are scheduled from 7am to 5pm between Monday 12 October and Friday 23 October on Old Punt Road near the Pacific Highway at Tomago, and on the eastbound New England Highway at Tarro.

Transport for NSW advised motorists to allow extra travel time and follow signs and traffic controllers’ directions.

Operators of oversize or over mass vehicles are asked to contact the project team on 1800 094 895 at least one day before their planned journey if their vehicle has a ground contact width greater than 3.2 metres or an overall width greater than 4.5 metres.

Transport for NSW warned: “Significant delays can occur through failure to make contact prior to travel.”

Vehicles travelling under a permit must remain on the approved route unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.
