newy.com.au – Motorists using Morpeth Bridge have been warned to expect delays of up to 10 minutes from next week as Transport for NSW begins repairs expected to take three weeks.

Work will be carried out between 10am and 2.30pm, Monday to Thursday, to limit disruption to traffic. The completion timeframe is subject to weather.

One lane will close during the work, and stop/slow traffic controls will manage vehicles through the work area. A reduced speed limit of 40km/h will apply to protect workers and motorists.

The repairs include tightening bridge deck bolts and replacing parts of the deck. Crews will also paint the timber kerbs and carry out line marking.

Transport for NSW has urged motorists to allow for delays, drive to the conditions and follow signs and traffic controllers’ directions.

Further information is available through the Morpeth Bridge work notice on Live Traffic NSW and the Live Traffic NSW app. To receive updates on their phones, motorists can search for ‘Morpeth Bridge’ in the app, select the incident and click ‘Follow’.
