newy.com.au – The Mutual Bank has opened a new branch in Cessnock, going against the wider trend of bank branch closures and giving customers another option for banking in person.
Cessnock Mayor Dan Watton joined local businesses, customers and community organisations at the official opening of the branch at 93 Vincent Street this week.
“While today was officially about opening a branch, what we’re really opening is a door to new conversations, new connections and new opportunities to support the people of Cessnock,” chief executive Mark Williams said.
The branch will be led by Stacey Wakeman, supported by local team members Rebeca Wynter, Aishnn Iuliano and Cherise Welstead.
The bank said it had established partnerships with Carrie’s Place, Cessnock Minor Rugby League and Hunter Region Business Hub ahead of the opening. Representatives from all three organisations attended the event.
“We have been incredibly grateful for the warm welcome we’ve received from local organisations, businesses and community members. The turnout at today’s event reinforced why we were so excited to become part of this community,” Mr Williams said.
The Mutual Bank is a Hunter based, member owned institution established by Maitland locals in 1888.
