newy.com.au – Traffic lights will be switched off and single-lane closures introduced overnight at the intersection of Croudace Street, Lookout Road and Russell Road at New Lambton, with maintenance due to begin on Sunday, September 20.
The work is expected to take about two months. Crews will work from 6pm to 6am Sunday to Thursday nights, weather permitting, with no work scheduled for Friday or Saturday nights.
Traffic controllers and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place while the lights are out during work hours. Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow signs and traffic control directions.
Transport for NSW says the maintenance includes installing new kerb ramps and replacing the intersection’s traffic lights, posts, cabling and controller. The overnight schedule is intended to minimise disruption to motorists.
Operators of heavy vehicles with an overall width greater than three metres are advised to contact the project team on 0403 167 894 at least one day before travelling through the site. The project will operate on UHF channel 40.
Vehicles travelling under a permit must remain on their approved route unless an updated permit has been obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.
Updates will be available through the Live Traffic NSW website and app. Motorists can receive updates on their phones by searching for “New Lambton” in the app, selecting the incident and choosing “Follow”.
