newy.com.au – A 56-year-old man has been charged with negligent driving occasioning death after a 22-year-old e-bike rider died following a collision with a utility at Scone in the Hunter Valley in February.

Police served the driver with a future court attendance notice on September 6 following an investigation by Hunter Valley Police District officers. He is due to appear before Scone Local Court on November 11.

Emergency services were called to Liverpool Street about 10.15am on Tuesday, February 17, following reports of a crash. Police said officers were told the e-bike and utility had collided on the driveway of a property.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the rider, who died before arriving at hospital. The utility driver was taken to Scone Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police established a crime scene and began inquiries into the circumstances of the collision.
