newy.com.au – Police have seized an unregistered motorbike following a crash at Waratah that sent a 35-year-old rider to hospital with a leg injury.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Maud and Lorna streets about 5.50pm on Monday, 14 September 2026. Police said they were told the motorbike collided with the side of a Nissan Patrol four-wheel-drive, throwing the rider from the bike.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to John Hunter Hospital. The driver of the Nissan was not injured.
The crash caused long delays on Maud and Lorna streets on Monday evening. The road was later cleared and traffic was flowing again while police remained on the footpath with the bike awaiting a tow truck.
Police confirmed the motorbike was unregistered and had been seized. Newcastle City Police District officers are continuing inquiries into the crash.
