newy.com.au – A 49-year-old woman has been charged with drug possession and supply after police allegedly found 56.6 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine during a vehicle stop at Muswellbrook.
Hunter Valley Highway Patrol officers stopped the vehicle on the New England Highway about 9.10am on Monday, 14 September, for roadside drug and alcohol testing. Police said the woman returned a positive roadside drug test for methamphetamine. A second oral fluid sample was taken and will undergo further analysis.
Officers searched the vehicle and allegedly found the crystal-like substance, $500 cash and a glass pipe. The woman was arrested and taken to Muswellbrook Police Station, where she was charged with possessing a prohibited drug and supplying a prohibited drug.
She was granted conditional bail to appear before Scone Local Court on Wednesday, 14 October. Police also issued her with a notice prohibiting her from driving for 24 hours.
