Fire and Rescue NSW said no one was injured or trapped in the crash. Crews from Wallsend fire station worked to make the scene safe, clear debris from the roadway and assist with reopening the road.
Firefighters also urged motorists to pull over somewhere safe and take a break if they felt tired behind the wheel, warning that fatigue could affect their ability to drive safely. They did not say fatigue had contributed to the collision.
