newy.com.au – A 33-year-old man allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.335 after a reported collision at Branxton on Tuesday night.
Police were called to Devon Street about 9.15pm following reports of an intoxicated driver.
Officers were told a small SUV had side-swiped a hatchback on the New England Highway before the SUV driver continued to Devon Street and pulled over.
Highway Patrol officers conducted a roadside breath test, which police allege returned a positive result.
The driver was arrested and taken to Maitland Police Station, where he allegedly recorded 0.335 during a breath analysis — more than six times the general legal blood-alcohol limit for fully licensed drivers.
Police suspended the man’s licence and issued him with a court attendance notice for driving with high-range prescribed concentration of alcohol, second offence.
He is due to appear before Singleton Local Court on Thursday, October 29.
