newy.com.au – Detectives investigating the discovery of a man’s body at Elermore Vale have released a CCTV image showing him at a Singleton hotel less than three weeks earlier.
Shane Ryan, 55, was found on a vacant property on Lake Road after police were called to the site about 12.30pm on Wednesday, August 19.
Officers from Newcastle City Police District established a crime scene and began investigating the circumstances of his death under Strike Force Draven. Mr Ryan’s body was identified during subsequent inquiries.
Police said the newly released image showed Mr Ryan at a Singleton hotel on Friday, July 31. He was wearing a distinctive Holden HSV Racing jacket, blue jeans and brown boots.
Mr Ryan was described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170 centimetres tall and of medium build, with a bald head, grey goatee beard and green eyes.
Detectives have asked anyone who saw or had contact with Mr Ryan in the weeks before his body was found, or who has information about his movements, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
