newy.com.au – A 14 year old girl has been charged with 18 offences and refused bail following a police investigation into alleged theft and property offences across Newcastle and the Central Coast.
Police allege she entered a Broadmeadow service station about 6am on Monday 26 October 2026, then produced a knife and threatened an employee after being directed to leave. She is also alleged to have damaged a glass door.
Officers from Newcastle City Police District arrested the girl a short time later and took her to a police station, where she was charged.
Police allege she was involved in multiple stealing incidents and other offences in Newcastle between September and October 2026, and continued offending while on conditional bail.
The charges include shoplifting, destroying or damaging property, aggravated break and enter in company with intent to steal, intimidating a retail worker without causing actual bodily harm, and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence. She was also charged with entering or remaining on premises licensed to sell packaged liquor without authority as a minor.
The girl is scheduled to appear before a children’s court on 9 November 2026.
