A motorcyclist in his 20s has been taken to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition after suffering suspected arm and leg fractures in a crash involving a car at Lambton late on Monday night.

The crash occurred about 10.40pm tonight (19 October 2026) on Griffiths Road approaching the Lambton Road intersection. The motorcycle was reportedly travelling west when it struck the rear of a car.

Several Ambulance paramedics attended, including intensive care paramedics. The rider was conscious and breathing while being treated at the scene before being transported to John Hunter Hospital.

His reported injuries included a suspected fractured arm and compound fractures of right femur and dislocation of right ankle amongst other injuries.

We have heard unconfirmed alleged reports the motorcycle was travelling at up to 140km/h before the collision, but that speed has not been independently confirmed.

Two of three westbound lanes were closed on Griffiths Road, and re-opened at 11:40pm.
