newy.com.au – A 15 year old girl has been charged with 17 offences following a police investigation into alleged thefts at bottle shops and other retailers across Newcastle.
Police allege the girl was involved in a series of thefts between May and September 2026.
Newcastle City Police District officers arrested her this morning and took her to Waratah Police Station. The charges include 16 counts of shoplifting.
Police refused the girl bail, but she was later granted conditional bail when she appeared before the Children’s Court.
She is due to appear in court again on 6 October 2026.
