newy.com.au – Newcastle Transport will add 20 weekday bus services in Lake Macquarie and extend services on routes 41, 43 and 48 until 7pm under timetable changes starting on Sunday 11 October.
Minor adjustments will also apply to other bus and light rail services, while changes to dedicated school bus timetables will take effect on Monday 12 October.
Keolis Hunter general manager Arsene Durand-Raucher said the changes were intended to improve reliability, with timetables adjusted to account for congestion and realistic travel times. The additional weekday services were aimed at making it easier for Lake Macquarie residents to get home.
Some school bus services will start earlier in the morning to get students to school well before the bell. In the afternoon, some services will depart schools closer to bell time.
Students and their families are being urged to check the summary of school service changes on the Newcastle Transport website before the adjustments begin.
“While most trips have been adjusted by only a few minutes, we encourage everyone to check their trip,” Mr Durand-Raucher said.
