newy.com.au – A truck rollover disrupted a major Wallsend intersection for almost five hours on Monday morning.
Fire and Rescue NSW crews were called to the intersection of Newcastle Road and Longworth Avenue just before 6am on August 31.
Firefighters arrived to find the heavy vehicle on its side and significantly obstructing the roadway.
Crews worked with other emergency services to secure the scene, manage hazards and assist with operations at the intersection.
A man in his 50s removed himself from the truck and was treated for minor injuries
Wallsend firefighters remained at the incident for almost five hours.
Motorists were urged to slow down, remain alert and follow emergency services’ directions near the scene.
As of 12:38pm, there are still delays at the site as they recover the truck.
