newy.com.au – A 29-year-old man has died and two people have been seriously injured in a head-on crash at Freemans Waterhole.
Emergency services were called to Freemans Drive about 7.30pm on Friday after a silver Audi hatchback and a blue Volkswagen Amarok four-wheel-drive collided.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the Audi’s driver, who was its sole occupant, but he died at the scene.
The Volkswagen’s 53-year-old female driver and 54-year-old male passenger were treated by paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital. Both were in a serious but stable condition.
Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist police as investigations continue.
Police have asked anyone who witnessed the crash or was in the area at the time and has relevant mobile phone or dashcam footage to contact Belmont Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Information can be provided confidentially.
