newy.com.au – Two 16-year-old boys have been charged with murder over the alleged fatal stabbing of a man at Argenton in April.

Homicide Squad detectives arrested the teenagers at Gosford Police Station about 9.15am on Thursday, August 6.

Both were charged with murder, while one also faces a charge of failing to comply with a direction under a digital evidence access order.

The charges follow the death of a 38-year-old man on Montgomery Street at Argenton in the early hours of Sunday, April 19.

Emergency services were called to the street shortly after 4am following reports of an assault. Lake Macquarie police found the man suffering stab wounds.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated him at the scene, but he died there.

Police established a crime scene before State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad took over the investigation under Strike Force Blave.

A 22-year-old man has previously been charged with murder over the death and remains before the courts.

Police said both teenagers had been remanded in custody to appear before a Children’s Court on Thursday. Strike force detectives are continuing their investigation.
