newy.com.au – A 26-year-old man has been charged after a firearm was allegedly pointed at two women during a road rage incident at Glendale.
Police were called to a shopping centre car park on Stockland Drive about 5.40pm on Tuesday following reports of a confrontation involving the women, aged 22 and 47, and another driver.
Officers were told a firearm was pointed at the women before the driver left the area.
After making inquiries, Lake Macquarie police attended a home on Anzac Parade at Teralba and stopped a vehicle believed to be linked to the incident.
Police searched the vehicle and allegedly found a gel blaster, two tasers, a baton, three slingshots and a knife. The items were seized.
The man was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station, where he was charged with possessing an unregistered pistol, five counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit, stalking or intimidation with intent to cause fear of physical harm, and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence.
He was refused police bail and was due to appear before Bail Division Court 2 on Wednesday.
