
newy.com.au – Police have seized 260 mature cannabis plants with an estimated potential street value of $520,000 during a search of a Cessnock home.
Hunter Valley detectives and the Hunter Valley Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at the property about 7.30am on Tuesday, 21 July 2026.
Officers allegedly found an elaborate hydroponic cannabis cultivation set-up inside the home. Cannabis seedlings, dried cannabis and hydroponic equipment were also seized.
Police said the premises had been illegally connected to the power grid. A utility provider assisted officers in disconnecting the property.
Specialist police forensically examined the scene, while Hunter Valley Police District officers are continuing their inquiries.
