newy.com.au – A 34-year-old man has been arrested after an 83-year-old man suffered head injuries in a reported assault at the Hungry Jack’s car park in Broadmeadow.
Emergency services were called to the restaurant on Lambton Road about 11.25am on Sunday, 19 July 2026. Officers from Newcastle City Police District found the elderly man with head injuries.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police taped off the car park and established a crime scene as detectives investigated the incident. Following inquiries, a 34-year-old man attended Waratah Police Station about 1.55pm and was arrested.
