newy.com.au – A 35-year-old man has been charged with high-range PCA after a utility crashed through fences and a timber shed at Abermain, near Cessnock, on Sunday night.
Police were called to a property on Baileys Lane about 8.35pm on 5 July after reports of a crash.
Officers were told a grey utility had driven through a wire fence, crashed through a timber shed and continued until it came to a stop against a second wire fence.
Police spoke with the alleged driver at the scene. He did not report any injuries to officers.
The man underwent a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result. He was arrested and taken to Cessnock Police Station, where a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.256.
He was issued a court attendance notice for drive with high-range prescribed concentration of alcohol and is due to appear before Cessnock Local Court on Tuesday, 4 August 2026.
His licence was also suspended.
It’s not the first incident this year, back in February an 18 year old was doing a burnout on Bromage Road Abermain when he lost control hitting 2 children and 5 adults who required hospitalisation.
