newy.com.au – Motorists in Valentine are being warned to expect changed overnight traffic conditions from next week as essential maintenance begins at a major local intersection.
Transport for NSW will carry out work at the intersection of Croudace Bay Road, Macquarie Drive, Tallawalla Road and Regal Way, with crews replacing traffic lights, posts, cabling and the traffic signal controller.
The work is aimed at improving the technical performance of the intersection with new technology. To reduce disruption, it will be carried out at night between 7pm and 5am, Sunday to Thursday, from Monday 29 June for up to four weeks, weather permitting.
Single lane closures, traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place during the works for the safety of workers and motorists. Drivers have been advised to drive to the conditions and follow the directions of signs and traffic controllers.
Heavy vehicles with ground contact or an overall width wider than three metres should contact the project team at least one day before travelling through the area on 0403 167 894. Freight operators have also been advised the project will operate on UHF channel 16.
Vehicles travelling under a permit must remain on the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.
