newy.com.au – Façon Magazine founder and editor-in-chief Lara Lupish will speak about the Newcastle-born publication’s 10-year story at a live Q&A at Newcastle Museum this Saturday.
The conversation, hosted by Carol Duncan OAM, will be held from 10.30am on Saturday 27 June during the final weekend of the museum’s Façon 10: Rétrospective exhibition.
The event will give visitors a chance to hear directly from Ms Lupish about the creative choices, community links and collaborations that have shaped Façon since it began, while also inviting questions from the audience.
The exhibition marks a decade of the Newcastle-founded fashion magazine, creative agency and modelling agency, and follows the release of Façon’s anniversary issue, Rétrospective Edition.
Ms Lupish said Façon had always focused on celebrating the people, stories and creative talent of Newcastle and the Hunter.
“Over the years, Façon has become more than a magazine; it is a record of time, place and community,” Ms Lupish said.
“This exhibition and Q&A are an opportunity to reflect on that journey, share some of the stories behind the pages, and celebrate the people who have helped shape Façon over the past 10 years.”
The museum exhibition features enlarged reproductions of Façon covers, archival material, editorial photography and signature fashion looks from the magazine’s history.
Visitors can also view mannequins dressed in designs by Toni Maticevski, Jean Bas, High Tea With Mrs Woo and Saretta The Label, alongside displays tracing Façon’s evolution over the past decade.
The Q&A will look beyond the publication’s history to explore the ideas, decision-making and creative direction behind the brand. The exhibition closes at Newcastle Museum at 5pm on Sunday 28 June.
