newy.com.au – A 47-year-old man has been charged with supplying a prohibited drug greater than a large commercial quantity after police allegedly seized almost 1.4kg of methamphetamine from a Lake Macquarie storage unit.
Police said Strike Force Prazz was established by the Hunter Region Enforcement Squad to investigate alleged drug supply offences in the area.
As part of the investigation, officers executed a search warrant at a storage unit in Bennetts Green on Thursday, 18 June 2026. During the search, police allegedly located and seized almost 1.4kg of methamphetamine, which they said had an estimated potential street value of $200,000.
Following further inquiries, police went to a home in Belmont North about 9.15am on Monday, 22 June 2026, where they arrested the man. He was taken to Belmont Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity.
The man was refused bail and was due to appear before Bail Division Court 2 on Tuesday, 23 June 2026.
