newy.com.au – A woman has died after being hit by a car at Wyee on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to Wyee Road, near Bethshan Street, just after 7pm on Sunday following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a black sedan.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 45-year-old woman, but she could not be revived. She is yet to be formally identified.
The driver, a woman in her 40s, was taken to Wyong Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District established a crime scene and have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Wyee Road, between Bethshan Street and Ruttleys Road, was closed while the police operation continued.
