newy.com.au – A former NSW Police civilian employee has been charged after detectives allegedly found child abuse material on an electronic device during a search at Cameron Park.
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District executed a search warrant at a home about 7.15am on Thursday, 28 May, as part of an investigation into the alleged possession of child abuse material.
During the search, detectives located and seized an electronic device allegedly containing an amount of child abuse material. A 39-year-old man was arrested following the search.
Police said the man had been employed under a specialist NSW Police command for three months between October 2019 and January 2020.
He was taken to Belmont Police Station, where he was charged with possess child abuse material. He was refused bail and is due to appear before Bail Division Local Court 2 on Friday, 29 May.
