Police investigate after SUV rolls at Whitebridge intersection

newy.com.au – Police are investigating after an SUV rolled onto its side at a Whitebridge intersection early on Sunday and the driver left the scene before officers arrived.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Dudley Beach Road and Burwood Road about 5.50am on Sunday, 24 May 2026, after reports of a crash.

Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District attended and found the SUV on its side. Police said the driver had left the scene before they arrived.

After making inquiries, officers located and spoke to the driver, a 22-year-old man, nearby. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
