newy.com.au – Motorists are being advised to expect changed traffic conditions from next week as construction continues on the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace.
Southbound motorway traffic will be diverted onto the M1 at the intersection of John Renshaw Drive and the M1/Weakleys Drive on Thursday, April 30, and Friday, May 1, between 7pm and 5am while asphalt work is carried out.
There will be no access to Lenaghans Drive from the southbound lanes of the M1 during the work.
Other major construction work will continue across the project from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday and from 8am to 5pm on Saturday, as well as out of hours from 8pm to 5am Monday to Friday nights.
Lane closures, contraflow arrangements, intermittent stoppages and temporary speed reductions to 40km/h will be in place at several locations.
From 8pm to 5am on the nights of Monday, April 27, to Friday, May 1, work will affect the M1 Pacific Motorway at Beresfield and Black Hill, John Renshaw Drive at Beresfield, the New England Highway at Tarro, and the Pacific Highway at Tomago and Heatherbrae.
From 8am to 5pm between Monday, April 27, and Friday, May 1, work will affect Lenaghans Drive at Black Hill, Old Punt Road near the Pacific Highway at Tomago, and the eastbound lanes of the New England Highway at Tarro.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and follow the directions of signs and traffic controllers.
Operators of oversize or overmass vehicles with ground contact wider than 3.2 metres or an overall width wider than 4.5 metres are advised to contact the project team on 1800 094 895 at least one day before travelling.
Transport for NSW said significant delays could occur if operators did not make contact before travel.
Vehicles travelling under a permit must not travel off the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.
