Teen driver dies after tree crash at Greta

newy.com.au – A 19-year-old man has died after the Kia sedan he was driving crashed into a tree at Greta in the Hunter Region on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Leconfield Road about 2pm on Friday, 17 April 2026, after reports of a crash. Officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District attended and found the sedan had hit a tree while navigating a bend in the road.

The driver died at the scene. Forensic officers have attended and will examine the crash site, while a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
