newy.com.au – Two 14-year-old boys were taken to John Hunter Hospital in serious but stable conditions after an e-bike crashed into a Holden station wagon at Belmont on Sunday night.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Evans Street about 8.30pm on March 29 following reports of a crash. Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District attended and were told the e-bike had collided with the side of the Holden, throwing the rider and passenger from the vehicle.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated both boys for leg and abrasion injuries at the scene before they were taken to hospital. The Holden driver, a 45-year-old man, was not injured.
Police have begun an investigation into the crash and seized the e-bike, which was destroyed on impact, for forensic examination.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
