newy.com.au – Six people were assessed for smoke inhalation after a fire tore through a unit block at Hamilton South on Friday night.
Emergency services were called to Chatea Lea Way about 7.35pm on Friday 27 March 2026 following reports of a fire.
Officers from Newcastle City Police District attended and found the unit block well alight. Fire and Rescue NSW crews extinguished the blaze.
NSW Ambulance paramedics assessed six occupants at the scene for smoke inhalation.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the incident has begun.
A Second fire occurred at 34 Fowler St at 4am
