newy.com.au – Detectives have seized an estimated $650,000 worth of cannabis after raiding a home at Hunterview, near Singleton, on Tuesday morning.

Police said officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District began investigating the cultivation of cannabis in the Hunter Valley earlier this year. About 9.30am on Tuesday 24 March 2026, Hunter Valley detectives and the Hunter Valley Proactive Crime Team executed a search warrant at the Hunterview property.

During the search, officers allegedly uncovered an elaborate hydroponic cannabis cultivation setup inside the home. Police seized 328 mature cannabis plants, which they estimate had a potential street value of more than $650,000.

Investigators also seized 78 cannabis seedlings, dried cannabis and hydroponic equipment. The property was also found to be illegally connected to the power grid and was disconnected with the assistance of a utility provider.

Specialist police forensically examined the scene and inquiries by Hunter Valley Police District are continuing. Anyone with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
