newy.com.au – A special preview screening of Life Could Be a Dream will be held at Tower Cinemas in Newcastle on Saturday 9 May 2026, with the event to be presented as a community fundraiser for domestic violence charities in the Hunter region.

The screening will start at 6pm at Tower Cinemas, 183-185 King Street, and will be followed by a live Q&A with Newcastle-born director and producer Jasmin Tarasin and writer Courtney Collins, in conversation with Elizabeth Tyler, co-founder and managing director of good.film.

The discussion will examine the film’s themes of resilience, financial safety and rewriting relationship narratives, along with the creative collaboration behind the feature.

Distributed by Maslow Entertainment, the film is due for national release on 14 May 2026. Life Could Be a Dream is Tarasin’s feature film debut and centres on the bond between a mother and her teenage son as they try to break cycles and redefine love on their own terms.

Tarasin said, “My hope is that this film serves as a beacon, showing that liberation is possible — one woman and her son finding their way toward a future defined by choice rather than fear.”
